Of All The Rotten Luck
Why is it that whenever I wash my car it rains a few minutes afterwards? You know they say you should wash in the shade or in relatively cloudy conditions (as long as your car is not under direct sunlight). I usually wash either 10 in the morning or late in the afternoon, about 5:00-ish, as long as it’s not too overcast. Sometimes I just bring the car to the corner car wash and leave it with the attendant when I have work to do (car washing requires some elbow grease, which unfortunately doesn’t come in abundance these days), like right now.
I even checked my weather widgets, just to see how the weather will turn out. Here’s a nice forecast:

That’s in degrees Celsius, of course (33 C is about 91.4 F). You shouldn’t expect any rain, but what do you know—five minutes after checking in the car with my usual car wash guy, rain starts pouring!
I feel like the universe is conspiring against me! It’s like Murphy’s laws having a statistical probability close to 1.0 (meaning stuff happens all the time).
In other words, sh*t happens. And you’d better be ready to anticipate anything.
Kind of feels like the time I upgraded WordPress to version 2.1. It was after I had installed the upgrade when I realized that one of the essential plugins I was using was incompatible. I had to revert to an older version using an old database backup (a week’s worth of comments was gone). Why is it that I never take the advice to backup seriously?
Then there was that time when I accidentally deleted a whole blog’s data because it only takes one click of one single link in cPanel to erase an entire MySQL database table. Talk about stupidity.
I just hope nothing screws up anymore.
