901am Signs Up Duncan Riley And Matt Craven
It’s one big happy family over at David Krug’s 901am. Who would’ve ever known that the reformed Cowboy (really, David?) would get to recruit Duncan and Matt? What’s the common denominator here? The Blog Herald, of course. Before Splashpress snapped up the Blog Herald, it was owned by Matt’s good team over at Problogging, Inc., which in turn bought the Blog Herald from Duncan early last year. Most (though not all) of 901am’s contributors came from the Herald.
Now what do these people have that would probably spell success for 901am.com? Is it insider information? Will they out-scoop everyone else? Well, even if these guys have great connections, this is probably not their competitive advantage. I would say it’s the community that they’re bringing to the site that will make or break it. You’ve got the Matt fans club. You’ve got the Duncan fans club. And then there’s the existing David-and-company fans club.
Ain’t that one good way to market a blog? Invite a well-known blogger to write for you and in all likelihood you’ll also inherit his or her readership—or at least a good number of the readers.

I genuinely congratulate David, Duncan, Matt and wish 901am every success. BH and 901 are completely different. We can all be friends, y’know.
