You Just Love It, Don’t You?
I know that from the start Splashpress Media (formerly Bloggy Network Ltd.) is supposed to be independent from the Blog Herald, and that it’s part of JOAB’s job to be devil’s advocate and critique (and criticize!) the Blog Herald as necessary. But this time I would say the Herald has been having too much criticism—at least from the outside.
To those who are not aware, the Blog Herald has had quite some experience with being bashed left and right, mostly by entities related to the previous ownership (see comment threads here and here). Well, that’s life, I guess and people are entitled to their opinions. But then again sometimes it feels like the Herald has this big red bullseye painted over it saying “bash me,” or something to that effect.
It’s interesting to note that there is a precedent to this, and it involved some of the same people that had been involved in the earlier mess with the Blog Herald (I won’t link. Do your research!). But then again, I do believe—and I am hopeful—that things have been patched up between the parties involved.
However, nasty stuff still comes up, and I personally get the feeling that people get satisfaction from anything bad that happens to the Blog Herald or other blogs currently connected to the network where the Herald belongs to.
I hope you’re happy, people!
Sigh.

I disagree with your statement fully. I have a lot of deep concern over The Blog Herald.
That’s why I’m tough on it on occassion.
You should hear what I say about JOAB behind closed doors. hehe.

Hey David, I’d love to hear what you say about JOAB behind closed doors.

I don’t know what goes on behind closed doors at David’s, but I guess it goes like this:
“They killed JOAB!”
If only my job wouldn’t keep me from blogging. But then again, probably I am one of them killers too.

I don’t think anybody should be afraid to speak their mind…least of all David. However- would you not say we have gotten a great team of writers at BH now-: Tony, Derek, Liz, Amit, Scott, Lorelle…to name just a few? To criticize is to care and far better than indifference- my feeling is that the critics themselves do care, but then the “sheep” who read their criticism- who I suspect haven’t even bothered to visit or read posts at BH- just revel in the putting down of others to make themselves feel more important.
I also have to say Franky, that it was fffing rude of you to not even write to me and let me know that you would stop posting on JOAB. Just plain bad manners.

Mosey, I didn’t want to stop writing, but I have a pretty high job and do you know those periods when you suddenly get caught in 16-18 hours days?
I got in a loop of them. No not looking for excuses. Just swamped.
No one has seen me anywhere anymore. I maybe read 5 blogs daily since beginning of the year. That’s it. My feed reader? Hasn’t been opened since the second week of January anymore.
I will try to find some time and refuse to bother about my first email backlog since years and send you a mail with the details.
To be honest, I enjoyed writing here and even miss it. I think I had a pretty decent view on blog related happenings and enjoyed writing about that.
Sorry if I can’t invest daily 4 to 5 hours (reading the whole echo chamber) to come up with something for JOAB, and have no time to write or even email people that I am busy. Yes that is how busy I am, just check my own blog(s).
Besides that I don’t exclude that some day I just might have to say something and write it here. If that would be welcome at least.
Otherwise, I am not British and don’t say sorry if people stand on my feet.
On a side note, yes TBH has a great team and surely has become a powerful, differently orientated, blog paper.
The sheep, you will always have them, and that surely will become worse with Duncan and Matt at 901am. Now one will see how strong TBH has become.
Oh wait a sec! Every regularly updated blog, blog paper with a good crew should grow non-stop, Too many newbies are still discovering blogs (and Google). So far for statistics and growing readership. Anyone ever cared to reflect an increase on the increase of internet users?

I appreciate the apology Franky, thanks….if it was that? Did I ever edit or censor you or tell you what to write? You make it sound like you can’t be a gent and still shoot straight.

Mosey, no you haven’t. I was totally free.
Sorry that one line (standing on feet) was misplaced sarcasm. But as non-Brit I still find you guys funny for it.

You’re right about us Poms! Seriously, I also apologise for losing my rag in public with you- I was actually genuinely worried. As I said, the door is always open!
