A Week to Think. Reflect. And Reenergize

I’ve spent nearly an entire week away from the internet. I needed it. Needed to de-process a lot of things in my life. Determine where I was at and where I wanted to be going. I’m pondering new ways to harness the partnerships I have and the ideas I have and how to make them work for me and those I’m in partnership with. I’ve come a long ways in understanding much in this industry and am ready to do something new. Something that involves a bigger circle of people. I’ve also been looking into other new partnerships for a blogging collective. I’m having some good feelers. I think realistically after a feel emails were sent out that about 5-6 blogs would join the family friendly (mostly) blogging collective. I’m not looking for another 700 Club. I’m looking for bloggers looking to profit withblogs, and help make a change with blogging in unique new ways.

I feel as though my direction has been distracted a lot. Some by my “managing in BlogMedia”, failed partnerships, and what not. From it all I realized my greatest asset is me and my big voice. I learned I may need to go away again before I can accomplish what I want to be able to do.

3 feisty cowboys

  1. I like your idea of family-friendlier blogging. I get the feeling most folks use crude language either purely for the shock value, or because they are too lazy to come up with an actual powerful way to get their ideas across.

  2. One of the hottest topics in blogging over the past year has been professional blogging and/or blog monetization. With the sale of WIN, it became clear to many that there was a lot of money to be made via blogs – or so we all thought.

Fortunately, it’s absolutely true that there’s a lot of money to be made from blogging. The problem is that we’ve got a bunch of cowboys out running around trying to make it on their own, and while a select few will achieve reasonable success, a vast majority of us will be left wondering how they did it.

Enter the blogging collective. As an educated, targeted group that has a defined direction, a blogging collective can harness advertising and promotional power that is quite valuable.

Picture this: an uber company wants to create a buzz marketing scheme by transmitting its message virally across as many blogs as possible. They contact the collective because they know they’ll be able to reach 500 bloggers instantly. On top of that, those bloggers have an audience of over 400,000 people, and to many corporate marketers, this looks like an exceptionally valuable vehicle for product promotion.

This is just one example of the many different ways that collectives can market, earn, and promote in such a dynamic fashion.
