Want to Discuss A Blogger’s Cooperative
Let’s define a few things first
A Cooperative is an enterprise or organization owned by and operated for the benefit of those using its services—the members. An electric cooperative, which is owned by its consumer-members.
I think we need a Blogger’s Cooperative. It would serve a few purposes.
1) Free Hosting
2) Shared Marketing Tools
3) Shared Advertising Network
4) Shared Revenue Model
I think it would be insanely profitable and great for bloggers. I have developed a quick one sheet. If your interested in getting involved in this project. Interesting idea, but there are lots of free blogging sites – they started free and have stayed that way. But will we not just get swallowed up by the same problems as blogger? spam, high costs of maintanence, porn, adult images etc etc I’m guessing the model would work, add things like photo hosting, podcasting, tags, blog rolls, feeds as a one click option and people will love it. People are fed up with spam filled blogger and still find it hard to add things to thier blog. But I think the days of just writing for fun are over – people want some return – if you are offering that then I’m in.
But how does it pay for itself and the founding members time? If we use adsense owned by google which owns blogger…. We may lose out.
