Back to Peace and Love…for a second

I just want you to know that…that…you’re kind of okay, I guess.

I apologize for having zeal.

I apologize for craving success.

I apologize for hating poverty.

I apologize for noticing how dumbed down we all have gotten.

I apologize for speaking my mind.

I apologize for targeted aggression.

I apologize for knowing more than you did.

I apologize for clobbering you in blogocombat.

I apologize for trying to provide leadership and a sense of direction.

I apologize for being firm, devoted, and serious.

I apologize for not fitting in with the other zombies.

I apologize for being who I really and truly am, instead of being you, which is far better.

I apologize for having an opinion.

I apologize for typing torrents so fast nobody knows what the H is going on around here anymore.

  1. “blogocombat”—I like it.

I plan to steal it, just fyi.

  2. You may have it as my parting gift to humanity.

How appropo: I give my last gift to someone I don’t know, the final and last comment posted to this springboard…

...and “blogocombat” is not even mine to give. It is a pure and undefiled “generic” term, not even rising to the noble and rare level of a valid and useful “neologism”.

I give what I do not possess, and you take what cannot be given.

  3. 1)Not being me really is one of the greatest sins.
2)Who drives you to apologize for hating poverty, of all things?
3)Am I the only person that hates reading things directed to an unspecified “you” and is left guessing if this is actually a universal you? 3a)Hate is probably too strong of a word, because it really is only just confusing, but being confused isn’t always a bad experiance.
3b)I suppose using an unspecified, but directed “you” as opposed to a universal “you” is a good way to voice indignance or whatever in open letter format
3c)but you can never be too sure if it isn’t actually a universal you, if this attack is truely directed at all readers, which always leaves me, and probably any reader, to think, “why is he apologizing to me? Did I somehow make him think that I didn’t want him to speak his mind?”
3d)Of course, the truth is that the reader is either completely out of the loop and should probably stay out of it, or knows exactly who it is directed to.
4)I think lists are weak. This might be a dumb position to take, and I am sure there are arguments in favor of the list, such as skimmability. I prefer to make bold the thesis statements in key paragraphs, because spacing things out and mixing up the phont really does help with readability, I find. So do pictures and graphs, but I’m not Newsweek.
5)Are having zeal, being firm, devoted, and serious not qualities that you would require to achieve success? I mean, can you hope to find success by being infirm, without devotion, and completely not serious?
5a)Only actors born to a rich family can sit around and fart themselves into fame.
5b)I originally intended to imply that some of the items in Vasper’s list were superflous, but after further contemplation, I suppose you could be firm, devoted, and serious without craving success, and you can crave success without haveing any kind of drive whatsoever, but you certainly can’t make an attempt at achieving success without those qualities, hence my initian confusion.
6)Point 7 and its subpoints are not directed directly by the above post by Vaspers, but self-referencial posts in general, because tangents are a form of mutation in the evolution of ideas.
6a)Are they really self-referencial, or would “autobiographical moments-in-the-life-of blogettes” be a more accurate name?
    6b)Whatever.
7)I don’t hold self referential work in high regard. Now, I happen to not particularly care for biographies or autobiographies, but I don’t think that’s why I don’t like the “what I did today and how I feel” blog. Blogs that unintentionally attempt to be like the dullest blog in the world; (Today I went to a movie with joey, bradey, andd kat, and it was hilarious, but kat didn’t like it. I am sad because kat and joey got in a fight. I am really tired but I have to study for a test tomorrow. I hate school! Sorry I haven’t posted for awhile, I will do better I promise1) end up being even more dull.
7a)Basicly, the point of a blog should be obvious within the blog because of its content, and should not require further content by the author.
7b)Everything one writes is a piece of oneself, so everything written is partially self-referencial, but some to more of a degree then some others, and I personally have more of an appreciation for work where the writer is only a part of the piece; I want to get to know the writer from the subjects they chose, they way the word things, the shape of the paragraphs and the emotion they invoke with turns of phrase and carefully placed punctuation.
    7c)Subtelty is awesome.
