6 Shall Die,Two Shall Rise

In 2006 I believe 6 blog networks shall bite the dust, shall leave their mark and pass away only to live in the internet archive. Already it appears Douchebrity and Flock Sucks may have left the earth for good. The Hate Blog Network ceases to exist. What about the rest.

1. Syntagma Media
It’s the livery that makes them bite the dust. Some poor old IT guy will accidently flip the switch on these guys as a favor to the entire blogosphere. And with that big bill I just slipped him he can finally afford to take his girlfriend out to dinner. Have to love underpaid IT guys when it comes to pure evil sabotage. Bye Johhny I’m sure B5 has plenty of room for you.

2. Wurk dot Net
Like I’ve said before this is one of the most painfully boring sites on the internet. And they change their diggs more than my ex-wife changes shoes. It will be a blessing when Barry falls asleep at the Wordpress and bombs his own mySql database into oblivion.

3. Fine Fools Network
RIP beloved friend. This one’s obvious. With Scrivs liquidating this network faster than I’ve ever seen any other blog network. This one will rap up its final closure with Scrivs handing over the keys to WorkBoxers to Jamsi in exchange for a hug and a t-shirt from Disneyland.

4. Gothamist Media LLC
With Dobkin unable to pay his writers cuz he’s plum greedy, a mass movement is already underway for Gothamist bloggers to jump ship to Erati, well that’s according to this one guy .
And yes dear gothamist writers you too can join the ranks of the tired ones who left Fine Fools, the gal from Blogebrity, a handful from B5 in the coolest place to work since the Dot Com Bust. my emails on the homepage . Feel free to contact away. Offering lucrative signing bonuses for every new blogger from Gothamist and a referral bonus for their friends. Tata.

5. FreshDaily
AY, there is no room at the blogosphere party for the Canadians. Sorry it will be sad to see you go. You will be the first blog to RIP before its official launch. Seriously its Canada they don’t read blogs. They shiver, and give free handouts. Rumor has it they have worked out a deal with TypePad to give every Canadian a free blog, and free cash too.

6. 9Rules Blog Ring
With Scrivs heading up a Sex Network advertisers are afraid of jumping on board his great new ship, instead member begin setting sail for the next cool blog ring. Leaving another gorgeous Rundle design empty and lifeless. And so shall be September. The day 9rules goes back to a splash page.

And Two Shall Rise….

1. B5 Media
These guys finally order 3 servers and bring a designer on full time and actually make a name for themselves outside of the search engines. Expand to about 300 blogs and gain some ra ra fight in them after they finally recover from a summer of fun.

2. BlogMedia & Co.
Where the hell did these guys come from. With some the brightest talent around, and blog acquisitions that suprise us all. These bad boys move into the upper echelon starting with new digs, a new advertising contract from a major player, and the Switch by some of the most talented bloggers around.

  1. I don’t want to rain on your parole, Cowpoke, but there’s a rumour going round that Syntagma Media has won the Dave Winer Award for Best Blog Design 2006. Unable to confirm this as yet.

  4. Although he’s an Aussie and I should be patriotic, Jamsi is in now way ready to drive WorkBoxers by himself.

I was about unsubsribe after a few meaningless posts like the ones about Erati and another about Yaro.

Thankfully Scrivs has got it back on track with a couple of quality though inducing posts about making coin.

The real estate in every subscriber’s RSS reader is valuable space that should be respected and not wasted on pissy little posts.

  7. I can’t help but laugh when I read this shit. Syntagma comes off with one huge claim of pseudo-importance after another. First it’s touting the site design, now it’s an award?

How do you sleep at night? Do you even visit other websites? Does ANYONE think a lightly modded K2 theme is worth ANYTHING? If you’re getting awards, we should rename them the “Corkies,” cause that’s fucking retarded.

  8. That’s hilarious Chris. Problem is look at my shitty website design. Where’s Rundle when you need him. Oh I don’t need him. NM.

  11. [...] On the 11th Cowboy predicts the demise of 9rules as a direct result of the involvement with the sex network. That same date sees David Krug post a confidential email from Scrivs to the 9rules members at Blog Network Watch. A few comments prompts Matt to arrogantly explain that “This is a news site – we’ll report what we think is news, interspaced from time to time with opinion. I have a very low regard for email disclaimers and their legality – and so does our counsel. News is news, so we reported what we felt was news.” [...]
