Josh Spear

Josh Spear. This guy fucking rocks and I bet you never heard of him or his company. I don’t usually sit around giving praise to bloggers because they all suck. But this guy fucking rocks and rocks it hard. He’s a local guy. From Boulder and his content, and design are fresh and simple.

Scrivs get over their and invite him already.

  1. [...] This is pretty interesting. Just found it via Josh Spear via JOAB - they are urban thought bubbles. What a contagious concept. It provides an outlet to make a statement (against ads), a means for self-expression (like the jokers with a pen), and photography potential everywhere. [...]

  2. Spears’ blog has a nice simple design, as you say, but I just can’t get too crazy about a blog with no comment posting function. It’s like reading a static magazine. Sorry.

  3. Mate I’ve been subscribed to Josh’s feed in my reader for a fair while. Anyone who hangs around the cool hunting crowd on the web knows Josh. The fact that’ve you’ve taken so long to mention a trend spotter make me love you less.

  5. Josh does ooz with talent, but it seems as though he is selling glorified elevator music.

  7. Redd, easy back there big fella. I was taking the piss and just using the opportunity to have shot at cowboy because I can.

    I wasn’t being serious.

This is a loose, casual blog and it’s a couple of days before xmas. Therefore when I’m in serious hung over state I’m being pretty loose in my comments.

A big fuck you about your elitism complex bullshit mate. Go read in the comments of succesful blog what I think of a-listers.

Not like it actually matters but since you asked I’ve know about cool hunting for a fair while because http://www.thecoolhunter.net is from my home town here in Brisbane, Australia and he has been syndicated in newspapers throught this big brown land for the last few years before he had the blog up and running.

  8. Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your feedback. When I originally started my blog I allowed comments but had some serious spamming issues so I backed off. I’m working on a better way to implement comments in the next version of my site. There will be a lot more interactivity and community feeling—and it’s comments like all of these that drive me to create a more functional site.

As far as Urbanrush, it’s a company which has been on the back burner for a long time as I’ve been focusing all my time and energy on my creative consulting company, my blogs, and a few other special projects!

    Josh
